ISO 25552 - Ageing societies -- Framework for dementia-inclusive communities

ISO/TC 314 WG 2 works towards a standard intended to provide guidance to communities on principles, processes, tools, and integrative measures that determines dementia-inclusive communities.
In an ageing society, dementia is an increasing problem that needs to be addressed globally to prevent adverse impacts on communities as a whole, health systems, economies and the well-being of individuals. Communities need guidance on how to systematically leverage, improve, and interconnect their existing assets and structures and transform efficiently into a dementia-inclusive community. Therefore, WG 2 works towards a standard intended to provide guidance to communities on principles, processes, tools, and integrative measures that determines dementia-inclusive communities and support communities that wish to obtain recognition as a dementia-inclusive community. This work is aimed towards, but not limited to the following users: communities and authorities, organisations, individuals and carers and their families, and education and innovation ecosystems.
The working group maintains close links and liaisons to related technical committees and groups worldwide to achieve compatibility with areas such as design of the built environment, product design, sustainable and smart cities, and assistive products and devices.
