ISO 25554 - Ageing Societies-- Guidelines for Promoting Wellbeing in Local Communities

ISO/TC 314 WG 4 works on this standard. The base of this document is on the concept of Healthy Ageing to address maintenance and enhancement of functional abilities through lifelong learning, and to consider how improved wellbeing can be embedded in local communities and organizations and how leadership can be developed by the wellbeing-related services that are available. This document aims to specify requirements and guidance for establishing, improving, maintaining, and reviewing wellbeing to promote Healthy Aging in local communities and organizations in ageing societies.

This document is aimed to be applicable to any local communities and organizations, regardless of its size, type and nature. And on top of that, this standard is a basic principle that can be applied to more rigid organizations such as enterprises.

WHO defines Healthy Ageing as the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables wellbeing in older age.

Occupational safety and health management is outside the scope of this document, assuming that it is properly implemented in OH&S management system of organizations.
