How the standards are used in our processes/projectsCentral Government, Local Governments, and Public Corporations are required to prepare a ‘standard application plan’ which specifies the geospatial information standards that need to be complied for the geospatial information project they plan to initiate. The plan is submitted to LX, a public corporation specialized in geospatial information and standards. LX is charged with checking the plan to see if the requirements for the geospatial standards are appropriate for the planned project. LX then sends the 'review result’ with the possible suggestions, if necessary, to the relevant organization. Currently, ISO’s 'metadata' and 'quality' standards are most widely used to be complied with. |
Benefits for the userPublic organizations(Central Government, Local Governments, Public Corporations, etc.) that carry out geospatial information projects usually do not to have much expertise in geospatial standards. Therefore, public organizations can check the necessary standards required for their projects in advance. This process also ensures that the outcome of the project meets the requirements for standards, thereby increasing the application of standards in national geospatial information projects. |
