ISO/TC 211 remembers 2013 - 2015 |
2013 was the year we consolidated three data quality standards into one: ISO 19157 Data quality, which was revised last year and will benefit from the addition of an online register of data quality measures – public beta available soon! Across the three years, we published eight other new standards and two new technical specifications. Perhaps the most significant were: ISO 19136-2:2015 GML Extended schemas and encoding rules, fast tracking OGC GML 3.3 – although even that ‘fast track’ took three years! |
| But perhaps the most significant publication in that period was “A Guide to the Role of Standards in Geospatial Information Management” prepared jointly with Open Geospatial Consortium and International Hydrographic Office and adopted by the UN Group of Experts on Geographic Information Management (UN GGIM) in their meeting in August 2015. The third edition is now available online at UNGGIM Standards Guide (ogc.org) and gives practical guidance on developing an open standard implementation of the UN Integrated Geospatial Implementation Framework at four different levels of functional maturity. | ![]() |
