Ms. Agneta Engberg, ISO/TC 211 – Introduction & Summary As Chair of ISO/TC 211, Agneta is proud to be part of great community, collaborating with other organizations to jointly support the global sustainable development goals. She has a MSc in Surveying from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Her experience ranges from several decades of national and European projects and leadership in e.g. remote sensing, land cover and standardization, and she has chaired the Swedish national mirror committee to ISO/TC 211. As for working together, experience tells her that diversity takes us further. • Dr. Nadine Alameh, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) – A personal journey to standards Dr. Nadine Alameh is the CEO of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), leading the future of Location with community, technology and standards for the good of society. Since her days at MIT, she's been passionate about technology and innovation, and has experienced first-hand the challenges of being a Woman in Technology. She considers Geospatial to be a great platform to encourage diversity as it brings in multiple technological disciplines along with multiple application disciplines. Together we can change the world! • Dr. Linda van den Brink, Geonovum - Spatial data on the Web: Next generation standardization Having studied literary science with a focus on applying computer technology to textual analysis, and after several IT jobs, Linda now works (10+ years) as a standards expert at Geonovum, a national geospatial standards body for the Netherlands. She is co-chair of OGC/W3C Spatial Data on the Web Interest Group, co-editor of the Spatial Data on the Web Best Practices, chair of the OGC GeoSemantics domain working group, furthermore recently published a PhD titled ‘Geospatal data on the Web’, and received OGC’s 2019 Gardels Award. • Ms. Karin Lindmark, Swedish Institute for Standards - ISO initiative on gender responsive standards Karin is manager of Technical Policy and Standardization Services at SIS. She now leads the ISO work on how to better develop and revise gender responsive standards. This and the exciting ideas on how to identify the needs, affecting many areas of standardization, will be touched upon in this presentation. • Dr. Serena Coetzee, University of Pretoria – Long walk to an International Standard As Professor and Head at Department of Geography, Geoinformatics and Meteorology, and Director at Centre for Geoinformation Science, Serena’s research focuses on the ever-increasing volumes of geographic information and the challenges of making the information findable, accessible and usable. The research is of an interdisciplinary nature, mainly in geoinformatics and computer science. Specific research foci are address data, standards, open principles and geovisualization. Serena actively participates in ISO/TC 211, and chairs the Commission on SDIs and Standards of the International Cartographic Association (ICA). |
