The first working group meetings this year for the International Organization for Standardization/Technical Committee 130 on Graphic Technology (ISO/TC 130) took place from May 19 to 23, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, adopting a hybrid format that combined both in-person and online participation.

The 38th ISO/TC 130 plenary and working groups and meetings have been held in Seoul, Korea from Dec. 2nd to 6th, 2024. More than 70 experts from 12 countries participated in the meetings either onsite or online . The plenary meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives from 11 countries with voting rights.

It's decided that ISO/TC 130 38th Working Groups meetings will hold in Berlin, Germany from April 22nd to 26th 2024. Seven working groups will hold the hybrid meeting during the meeting week, however, due to the Passover holidays, some working groups will hold the virtual meeting only in May.

The 35th ISO/TC 130 Plenary meeting will be held virtually on November 8. The working group meetings for the second part of 2021 is scheduled before the Plenary meeting.

WG 1 Terminology; The work on ISO 5776 Symbols for text proof correction has been completed, and the standard is out for its final ballot before being published. The revised version includes mark-up for the Korean Language. Work on terms and definitions is continuing and consideration is being given to developing a standard on the design and layout of documents.

It is 50 years since ISO/TC 130 was setup and held its first meeting on 2nd June 1971. On 2nd June 2021, Mr. Pengfei Zhao, the current Chairman of ISO/TC130, has sent a message to the ISO/TC 130 Members to remind us to celebrate this.

Among the new standards published by TC130 this year is ISO 19301, full title “Guidelines for schema writers - Template for colour quality management”. The standard combines the ISO 9001 standard for quality management systems with a number of other ISO-standards to achieve a robust quality- and colour management system for publishers and printers.
