ISO 30301 is applicable to any organization of any size, sector or location. So it is applicable for organizations offering outsourced records services to other organizations.
- The scope of the MSR may include the whole of the organization, specific functions of the organization or specific sections of the organization. It is possible to define the scope to cover the records services provided by the organization.
- Application of ISO 30301 to the records services does not exclude any requirements specified in Clauses 4 to 10.
- When records services include paper or electronic storage, management and delivery of records to/from the client, requirements of ISO 30301 Annex A should also be applied to the client records
