Here are the key resolutions and decisions taken by the committee:
1. Disbandment and Formation of Groups:
- Disbandment of AHG 8: The committee resolved to disband the Ad Hoc Group 8 (AHG 8), which focused on Records Management by Design.
- Formation of AHG 9: A new Ad Hoc Group 9 (AHG 9) on Digital Preservation has been formed, with Mr. Andy Potter appointed as the leader.
2. New Projects and Revisions:
- New Project ISO/TR 23081-4: The committee has initiated a new project to develop ISO/TR 23081-4. This project, under the guidance of WG 1 and led by Charlotte Maday, aims to produce a report on metadata element sets for records.
- Revision of ISO 30301: WG 8 will undertake the revision of ISO 30301, a key standard for records management systems. Carlota Bustelo will be the project convenor. This revision is slated to start in June 2024.
3. Collaboration and Guidelines:
- The committee plans to collaborate with TMB/JTCG to produce guidelines for drafting Management System Standards (MSS), leveraging the revision of ISO 30301.
4. Reconfirmation and Title Harmonization:
- Reconfirmation of ISO 16175 Part 2: The committee resolved to reconfirm ISO 16175 Part 2, which provides guidance on selecting and maintaining software for managing records.
- Harmonization of Titles in ISO 23081 Series: The titles within the ISO 23081 series will be harmonized to ‘Information and documentation – Metadata for Records’ to ensure consistency and clarity.
5. Disbandment of Working Groups:
- Working Groups 17 (Records in the Cloud) and 19 (Risk assessment for Records Processes and Systems) have been disbanded, reflecting the committee's strategic realignment to focus on emerging challenges and technologies.
6. Call for Experts and Contributions:
- WG 21 and WG 22: There are calls for experts to contribute to ongoing projects, including the ISO 24086 Digital Legacies project under WG 21 and the Records Management and AI project under WG 22.
7. Appreciations:
