ISO/WD 20271-1, titled "Document management — Reference model for long-term preservation of text documents — Part 1: Fundamentals," will define the fundamental aspects of text documents necessary for their long-term preservation. This includes covering the concept, elements, and components of text documents.
Currently under development, ISO/WD 20271-1 is at stage 20.20 of its life cycle. The technical committee is diligently working towards the first edition of this standard, which will establish a solid foundation for text document preservation practices.
