Since ISO 30301- Management system for records- Requirements second edition was published in 2019, the guidelines for implementation in ISO 30302- Management system for records- Guidelines for implementation standard required revision.
WG8 Management systems for records (MSR), with Anki Steen (SIS- Sweden) as Project leader and Carlota Bustelo Ruesta (UNE- Spain) as Convenor started the revision in August 2020 with a framework of 24 months for publication.
Differences with the first version of ISO 30301 in the edition of 2019 are not substantial, but a group of experts made a preliminary report recommending a full revision of ISO 30302. The revision is covering the alignment of clauses and sub-clauses to the new ones in ISO 30301, alignment of wording and terminology, as well as good practices extracted from the organizations that have already implemented an MSR based on ISO 30301.
This document has been developed to assist users to apply the management system for records requirements of ISO 30301. ISO 30301 specifies the requirements for a management system for records (MSR) where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to create and control information created, received and maintained as evidence and as an asset by an organization, in pursuit of legal obligations or in the course of conducting business.
