The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) was established by CAP 496 of the laws of Kenya. One of the core mandates of KEBS is to promote standardization and standardization activities in the country. KEBS has organized a records and information management workshop on the 28th and 29th April 2016, in Nakuru town.
This workshop was organized with the following objectives:
- To promote standards and standardization as important tools for records and information management
- To outline and promote good recordkeeping practice for good governance
- To create awareness on the legal and policy requirements for records management
- To appreciate the role of technology in records management.
The presenters at the workshop include Professor Justus Wamukoya and Dr. Tom Kwanya. This is probably the first national workshop on information and records management. Invited participants include national and county governments, and private sector.
