The Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI) hosted the opening ceremony of the hybrid meeting. The head of BNSI expressed strong support for the event, while senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Technology and Vocational Training and the Ministry of Industry, Innovation and Technology of Barbados delivered keynote speeches. Professor Gouthier, serving as the chair, officially opened the meeting and warmly welcomed all participants.
The meeting featured reports from the ISO/TC 312 Secretariat and updates from TG 1, WG 1, WG 2, WG 4, and WG 5. Additionally, liaison organizations, including ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 40, ISO/TC 232, and ISO/TC 159, provided insights into their ongoing work. Delegates engaged in in-depth discussions on the development, implementation, and promotion of key standards, such as:
- ISO/WD TS 19384
- ISO/WD TS 19387
- ISO/DTS 19390
- ISO 11367
- ISO/TS 24082
The meeting also explored potential new projects for future standardization efforts.
As part of the event program, BNSI organized a Service Excellence Workshop on February 11, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, conducted in a hybrid format. During the workshop, experts from ISO/TC 312 introduced core service excellence standards, including:
- ISO 23592 – Service Excellence – Principles & Model
- ISO/TS 24082 – Service Excellence – Designing Excellent Service to Achieve Outstanding Customer Experiences
- ISO/WD TS 19384 –Service Excellence – Guidelines for the Application of Digital Approaches to Achieve Service Excellence

The workshop was attended by representatives from various stakeholder organizations in Barbados and was met with great success.
Looking ahead, the 13th ISO/TC 312 meeting is scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, in February 2026. Stay tuned for further updates!
