pic1.pngThe Cyprus Quality Conference took place on 13 November 2025 in Nicosia. This year’s Conference took as its point of reference this year’s central theme of the World Quality Week, as defined by the European Organization for Quality (EOQ)“Profitable Quality and Risk Management” — it aims to highlight the importance of quality as a strategic tool that contributes to the profitability, resilience, and sustainable development of organizations.

The event was part of the Europe-wide celebrations for World Quality Week, with the objective of promoting the advantages and significance of quality management, as well as disseminating a culture of quality across all sectors of the economy and society.

In an era of increasing complexity and business challenges, effective risk management, innovation, and operational resilience emerge as key factors for success and competitiveness, making quality an integral element of strategic management.

Conference Agenda

The Conference was structured into three thematic sections, in which distinguished speakers from the business, academic, and public sectors prestened modern approaches, experiences, and best practices in the field of Quality and Sustainable Development:

  • Innovation, Resilience & Sustainability
  • Quality, Technology & Business Excellence
  • Experiences and Perspectives on Quality, through examples of successful business practices implemented in Cyprus.

George Ioannou addressed the conference with the presentation titled: “The new public service excellence standards as effective tools for addressing today’s public sector challenges.”

The purpose of the intervention was to provide a concise presentation of the mechanisms through which the new service excellence standards empower public organizations to respond effectively to current and future challenges.

The standards ISO 11367:2025 – Service Excellence – Principles and model for public service organisations and ISO 23592:2021 – Service excellence — Principles and model are new standards, based on the latest developments in excellent customer / citizen service and in service to society more broadly.

The presentation raised awareness on the new public service excellence standard and several public service organisations showed interest wanting to know more about the standard and the possibility of certification.
