Meet our Wuhan hosts

Our 60th plenary meeting will take place in Wuhan starting on the 19th May. The following provides a little bit more information about our sponsors. We are grateful to the National Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China, Wuhan University and the National Geomatics Center of China for their support of our first plenary meeting of 2025.

National Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China (SAC)

SAC is authorized by the State Council to exercise the administrative functions and carry out centralized administration for standardization in China. SAC serves for the Chinese market and society through standardization work for all sectors.
 SAC represents China to join the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and other international and regional standardization organizations. SAC is also responsible for organizing the activities of Chinese National Committee for ISO and IEC.
SAC approves and organizes the implementation of international cooperation and exchanging projects on standardization.

Wuhan University (WHU)

WHU is a key comprehensive public university located in Wuhan, Hubei, China, with origins dating back to 1893. It is a top-rated university in China and also plays a major role in researching and teaching all aspects of surveying and mapping, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and geospatial information sciences in China. The School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering is a key academic unit in WHU dedicated to developing geospatial technologies in remote sensing and geographical information systems. The Remote Sensing discipline is ranked Top 1 in both CWUR - World University Ranking and ARWU - ShanghaiRanking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities). 

National Geomatics Center of China (NGCC)

NGCC, also functioned as National Surveying and Mapping Archives, fulfills the missions to construct, manage and distribute national fundamental geoinformation data and archives, plan and organize the national major surveying and mapping projects, provide application services based on national fundamental geoinformation.
NGCC serves as the secretariat of the National Technical Committee for Geographic Information Standardization, as well as the National Mirror Committee of ISO/TC 211.
