We at ISO/TC 211 would like to wish you a happy and prosperous new year. We hope our vision continues to enable that for all of you:

We’re pleased to have continued delivering on our strategic plan in 2023:

• Ongoing engagement with UN bodies (especially UN GGIM and FAO), standards development bodies (especially OGC) and others such as FIG.
• Growing outreach on LinkedIn and through our Standards in Action workshops
• And of course delivering new and revised standards where the community tells us they’re needed: addressing, data quality, metadata, remote sensing and others

During 2024, we look forward to continuing work virtually and asynchronously (mostly meaning on Zoom and the ISO Online Standards Development tool) by our seven working groups, including publication of:

• Revised standard on the use of UML for geographic information management (ISO 19103, ISO 19109)
• Revised management of registers (ISO 19135)
• Land Use Meta Language (ISO 19144-3, with FAO)
• Revised Land Administration Domain Model (ISO 19152-1, with FIG and many others)
• Marine space georegulation (ISO 19152-3, with IHO)
• Indoor feature model (ISO 19164, with OGC and others)
• and probably more…

and our advisory groups, covering:

• Ongoing harmonisation of our terminology, UML, registers, and supporting resources
• Engagement with UN and with the modernisation of ISO
• Geodesy, land cover & land use

We look forward to welcoming you at one or both of two plenary meeting weeks, with Standards in Action workshops:

• Early June in London, United Kingdom
• November, probably in Australia

Or at our presence during UN GGIM in New York in August or at other regional events in the year.
