SC 2 ISO/AWI TS 23526 Security aspects for digital currencies. The importance of digital currencies and their security has now entered the international financial market. SC2/WG17 is working on a draft Technical Specification 23526 to highlight needed security aspects to support the role for digital forms of currencies including fiat digital currencies and non- fiat digital currencies. Coupled with convenience are three security related issues: Trust, so that the supporting international financial ecosystem can warranty its financial payments and financial transactions; Binding liability, so that investments supporting a financial ecosystem do not have negative legal ramifications; and, Privacy, so that the individual, as a consumer, with the supporting financial infrastructure can ensure that information remains private when needed. WG17 collaborates with other standard bodies: ANSI (American National Standards Institute) x9 banking standards, and, ITU (International Telecommunications Union) Fiat Digital Currency committee.
