SC 2 ISO 9564-1:2017/AWI AMD 1 Financial services — Personal Identification Number (PIN) management and security — Part 1: Basic principles and requirements for PINs in card-based systems — Amendment 1. WG 13 writes standards that specify security requirements for the various aspects of retail financial services, such as cryptographic key management, PIN security, secure cryptographic devices, and now also secure handling of biometric data. WG 13 has for decades been the originator of many of the security requirements to the participants in the financial industry. Both EMVCo and PCI SSC make frequent references to WG 13 standards relating to customer authentication, key management, PIN and device security.
