Japan addressing Dementia Inclusion Policy and Application
Japan is one of several countries actively participating in ISO TC 314 Ageing Societies. TC 314 currently is in the process of developing international standards relating to ageing workforce and dementia inclusive community, both of which relate to prevention and inclusion for Japan in developing their various policy packages.
Recently Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his cabinet approved a new policy package to tackle dementia in June 2019. The policy package emphasizes prevention of the disease and inclusion of people with dementia in the society.
Japan’s recent policy developments inform and are in line with the development of TC 314 encouraging older people and people Living with dementia to be included in society.
