The TC members joined the plenary meeting following two days of deliberations in the new working groups on ageing workforce and dementia inclusive communities.
At the start of June, participating countries and liaison organizations send their experts to the join the exciting launch of the working groups in Hangzhou, China. The foundations of two new standards on ageing workforce and dementia inclusive communities were formed. This is a critical time for the members to influence the direction of the drafts and ensure the final standard will represent best practices from their countries and organizations. After some difficult decisions were made in the working groups, it was time for the plenary meeting of ISO/TC 314. Here both groups provided an update on their progress and provided input in the strategic direction of the TC. Canada also brought us some exciting news with an upcoming proposal for carer-inclusive and accommodating organizations, which is currently out for ballot to review if the TC will accept the proposal as the latest standard for development. In February 2019, you can discover the results from this review.
