The Programme for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV) of the International Training Centre of the ILO, in partnership with the ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation) created a training for young trade union leaders and experts across Europe called European Youth Academy on the Future of Work.
The youth got introduced to the world of standards and the possible good impact that the process of standardization can have in our daily lives and especially for workers.
The Programme for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV) of the International Training Centre of the ILO, in partnership with the ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation) created a training for young trade union leaders and experts across Europe called European Youth Academy on the Future of Work.
During 5 days, between the 1st to the 5th of April 2019, over 50 young trade unionists together with international experts & trainers have discussed several important and current topics and trends, but they also developed different plans and actions.
One of the sessions tackled the subject on Youth challenges in an ageing society and the purpose of ISO TC 314- Ageing societies was promoted by one of the WG1 experts, Ms. Adriana Ciacâru, the expert representing the ETUC in ISO/TC 314.
The youth got introduced to the world of standards and the possible good impact that the process of standardization can have in our daily lives and especially for workers.
The previous session on this topic, delivered by Marina Monaco, ETUC advisor, offered them a clear picture about the future of Europe with the ageing population with numbers and statistics, which highlighted the need to take action in this regard.
Our expert encouraged the youth to get involved in the standardization process by contributing with feedback and relevant suggestions for improving the working conditions for aged workers.
