As the uncertainty around the future of the global COVID-19 pandemic continues, support for carers remains critical. ISO/TC 314 has been actively involved in addressing this issue with the publication of ISO 25551 – General requirements and guidelines for carer-inclusive organizations. Other global and national organizations are working to raise awareness and create dialogue on this important global issue.
International Association of Carer Organizations (IACO) Discussion
The members of IACO believe that carers have a right to combine caring with paid employment, to be supported by their employers, and have equal opportunities to remain in and return to work. Throughout 2022 IACO is convening a series of discussions to explore this priority and showcase innovative practices around the world. At the first event on April 26th the convenor and secretary for ISO/TC 314 Working Group 3 will be presenting on ISO 25551 along with speakers from the UK and Australia. All interested individuals are invited to join the session.
