Discover the new developments on home-based healthcare.
WG5 is a new working group. It introduces a brand new category "home-based healthcare (HBHC)" which will address a variety of issues that have emerged in recent years due to increased cases of healthcare at home, faced especially by non-professionals (caregivers, family, patients, etc). The aim of WG5 is to help provide manufacturers and end users with better accessibility and usability for home-based products and services.
WG5 will start off by discussing Technical Report ISO/AWI TR25555 that provides design considerations in order to increase accessibility and usability of HBHC products and their related services and environments that are used in home-based environments for older persons and persons with disabilities. This TR is based on the responses to our original surveys conducted on actual users of some of these products.
The convenor of this working group is Dr Kenji Kurakata of JISC who is an accessibility standards expert.
