Guidance for the  integration of sustainability within an asset management system

This Publicly Available Specification (PAS) will offer guidance on the integration of Sustainability and Asset Management practices. More specifically, this PAS will give guidance to organizations on the application of overarching sustainability principles, practices and terminology for asset management activities.

Asset management experts have observed that sustainability practices and processes (including, but not limited to, definitions, measures, decision-making criteria, processes, etc.) are required, yet absent, within current asset management requirements and guidance. Generally speaking, it is observed that asset management and sustainability are described and defined as individual practices. More specifically to TC251 and the existing suite of ISO550xx documents, it has been noted that the integration of these practices is briefly discussed but is not made clear. As a result, it is believed that there is a limitation of value realization within organizations and the perpetuation of organizational silos, amongst other challenges and lost opportunities. PAS 55035 will address these shortcomings.

See ISO/AWI PAS 55035.
