Using ISO/IEC 20000-1 without getting a certification

ISO/IEC 20000-1 is the international standard for service management. The standard contains 216 requirements that serve as a baseline to which an organization’s Service Management System (SMS) should conform to be able to provision services in an effective manner

However, the standard is not only there to use for certification purposes. Organizations can also use its contents and use it to look at their service management environment and make improvements based on its contents.
