Process Mining
Process mining was presented and discussed as a topic of interest to the SMS, CPI and services as a whole. The Process Mining Manifesto and Quick Reference Guides from IEEE were made available to WG2 in the Members upload area. The perspectives for process mining can be seen as a benefit to help organizations achieve 20000 certification (process definition) or organizations that already have a certification, to maintain and/or improve their defined processes (conformance and improvement). The potential risk within the process mining was define as ‘complacency’ – the data is there and gathered but then analysis and follow-on actions slowly diminish over time. Additional connections to process mining was also the ties to customer/user/employee experience, though it was noted the tools to capture those dimensions are relatively immature. The session ended on the request to continue to think about the elements in Process mining and their applicability to CPI for our discussions at the next Interim meeting, 1-5 November.
The next 20-20-20 meeting is 5 October 1300 UTC, and the brainstorming topic will be the SMS and IoT, presented by Sumit Jha.
