ISO/TC 347 is a technical committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It brings together experts from industry, academia, government, and civil society to develop International Standards that support the digital transformation of agrifood systems.
What we cover
ISO/TC 347 focuses on data-driven agrifood systems across food, feed, fiber, energy and specialty crops, livestock, forestry, aquaculture, and related value chains. The committee addresses how data are defined, exchanged, governed, and used from the input manufacturer to the field and farm through processing, logistics, and markets, including interactions with environmental, climate, and sustainability data.
What we do and why it matters
ISO/TC 347 develops International Standards, technical specifications, and guidance that enable interoperability, data quality, and trust. Our work includes common data models and vocabularies, reference data, APIs and interfaces, management-system approaches, and conformance and assessment frameworks. These standards matter because they reduce fragmentation, lower integration costs, enable innovation and responsible use of digital technologies such as AI, and help ensure that agrifood data can be reliably shared and reused to improve productivity, sustainability, resilience, and transparency worldwide.
