ISO/TC 44/SC 8, Equipment for gas welding, cutting and allied processes, met on 2018-11-12 and -13 at DIN in Berlin. It was the second meeting led by the new Chairman César Jubert. Delegates from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and United States participated.

Liaison reports were given from ISO/TC 45/SC 1 “Rubber and plastics hoses” and from ISO/TC 58/SC 2 “Gas cylinder valves”. ISO/TC 45/SC 1 support ISO/TC 44/SC 8 in revising ISO 3821 on “Rubber hoses for welding” by sending comments.
The comments from the Systematic reviews were discussed and it was decided to revise some of the reviewed standards in the future, e.g. ISO 14113 on “Rubber and plastics hose and hose assemblies”.
The work on the active projects was pushed forward:
- The draft of ISO 5171 on Pressure gauges was finalized and submitted to FDIS stage;
- The comments on ISO/DIS 9090 on Testing of gas tightness were discussed and partly solved;
- The draft of ISO 3821 on Rubber hoses for welding was finalized and submitted to DIS stage;
- The sequence of the parts of ISO/NP 22073 on Pressure regulators was determined and the scope for Part 2 on Tapping point was drafted.
