The last ISO/TC 44 meeting was held in Sydney, in September 2019. About 28 delegates, representing 14 countries, attended this meeting. During the meeting, the major topics raised were:

- the validation of a new Business Plan for ISO/TC 44. This document describes the main aspects and dynamics of the economic, social, regulatory or other environment in which the committee operates, as well as its main objectives and current strategies, its internal structure and cooperation with other organizations. It includes the areas of activities of all the subcommittees operating under a technical committee;
- a proposal a new architecture for the provision of interpretation sheets. This new presentation should be released in the first semester of 2020;
- a discussion on the addition of dates of validity for interpretation sheets. This should be put in place with the new architecture for the provision of interpretation sheets;
- a finalisation of the creation of a new SC on underwater welding (ISO/TC 44/SC 15). The first meeting should be held in the first semester of 2020;
- the relevance of the Vienna Agreement: is it necessary to develop EN ISO standards for most of welding standards?
The next ISO/TC 44 meeting is scheduled in September 2020, in Miami. During the meeting, ISO/TC 44 will try to refine the information provided by the structures in liaison.
