ISO/TC 44 in Harbin, China, July 2017 : successful but getting better !

Mrs Cyrielle Fournier and Mr Patrick Verrier express their gratitude to Harbin Welding Institute, and especially Mr Dongguang Park, for their kind hospitality and amazing organization.

They also thank all attendants of ISO/TC 44 for the very productive meeting which has provided a new raodmap for ISO/TC 44 activities.

During ISO/TC 44 meeting held in Harbin, in July 2017, a roadmap was set up. In the coming months, ISO/TC 44 will work on:

1. A process to develop and release interpretation for all standard users;

2. The reorganisation of SC 11 "Qualification requirements for welding and allied processes personnel" and SC 13 "Brazing materials and processes" to gather the expertise for developing standards on brazing procedure and brazer qualification. A WG dedicated to qualification of personnel and procedures will be created within SC 11 (a possible Joint Workin Group with SC 13 is also considered);

3. On the development of standards related to plastic welding in conjunction with ISO/TC 61 "Plastics";

4. On the reinforcement of the participation of all P-members in ISO/TC 44 and SCs meetings (see the list of ISO/TC 44 P-members: https://www.iso.org/committee/48602.html?view=participation).
