Pesticides are used widely in modern agriculture, and in increasingly complex ways (e.g., using drones and spot-spraying robots). Helping farmers use chemicals accurately and safely, in compliance with their legally binding label, affords a valuable opportunity for information technologies to support decision-making. Managing digital tools to support responsible pesticide use for millions of growers worldwide requires standards; our speakers, Sarah Hovinga of Bayer Crop Science and Graham Mullier of Syngenta, will introduce two standardization opportunities under consideration in TC 347—modes of action and formulation codes—and explain how you can participate.
