Spread across 15 detailed in-person workshops, two substantial hybrid plenary sessions, and four days with 64 in-person attendees representing 11 countries, the 2026 in-person plenary, in Cologne, was a resounding success!

Plenaries are our annual opportunity for the interactive face-to-face discussion and development that online discussions cannot yet fully replicate. Attendees had a full calendar of presentations and discussion spanning the whole breadth of ISO/TC 347
activities. Thanks to the generous support of GS1, not only did those in the room have a great environment for the event, but the web meeting facilities made for a detailed and seamless experience for online attendees also.
In addition to shaping the future of agrifood standards, participants explored further opportunities presented by the establishment of European Data-Spaces and learned about the cutting edge Food Security Data-Platform being actively deployed in the UAE.
It wasn't all chalk and talk though, with plenty of opportunity to continue building international bridges
courtesy of the wonderful and historic city of Cologne.
