Over 160 Canadian industrial, commercial and institutional facilities are currently certified to ISO 50001 (https://www.nrcan.gc.ca/energy-efficiency/energy-efficiency-industry/energy-management-industry/iso-50001-energy-management-systems-standard/20405 ). The list of compliant and certified facilities is expanding – because it is saving businesses money and improving their ability to compete. Canadian companies that have implemented ISO 50001 have improved their energy performance on average nearly 10% within 2 years, with most of the improvement coming from low- or no-cost operational improvements.
