The members of ISO/TC 267, and working group 4 (WG 4) in particular, will be celebrating a successful DIS ballot for the proposed standard, ISO 41014 Facility management - Development of facility management strategy, at the upcoming virtual plenary meeting on 4 June.
A ballot for ISO/DIS 41014 (Draft International Standard) was submitted immediately following the ISO/TC 267 meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia, in November 2019. The ballot was well received, closing on 20 April 2020 with 23 countries of the 26 countries that responded to the ballot voting to approve the standard (3 countries abstained). WG 4 would like to thank the members of the National Standards Bodies for the effort invested to vote and comment on the new proposed standard in FM. They will work through comments in the coming weeks to progress the standards to the next stage, with a publication thereafter.
Since the St. Petersburg’s meeting, WG 4 has had three workshops, with a fourth scheduled on 28 May to continue to mature our presentation material for the standard which explains the benefits of implementing the standard and next steps to follow for organizations wanting to take up the challenge.
With the cancellation of the next face-to-face meeting in June and many countries in lockdown, we will continue to do our best to work via virtual meetings until such a time when we are privileged again to have face-to-face opportunities, such as conferences and networking events, to join together in this share goal to bring meaningful standards to the FM community.
