ISO 41018: Development of FM policy is nearing completion
Following on from the release of ISO 41014: 2020 Facility management – Development of a facility management strategy, ISO/TC 267’s Working Group 4 (WG4) continued with the development of ISO 41018: Facility management — Development of a facility management policy.
ISO 41018 will promote a methodology to assist organizations in determining the most appropriate approach to the development of an FM policy and provide a common basis for understanding the factors which ought to be considered when developing an organization or facility-specific FM policy.
Since this standards project started in August 2020, a Committee Draft (CD) and a Draft International Standard (DIS) have been developed and circulated to National Standards Bodies (NSBs) for comments. This represents another significant volunteer effort by WG4 to mature the document in this process and for responding to over 470 comments. WG4 are pleased to say that we are working towards registering a Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) ballot which is scheduled to start in April 2022 and close in June 2022.
If all goes according to plan, we are looking forward to publication later this year.
