Considering the different positions and need for the Aerospace and Additive Manufacturing (AM) industries, the standard development committees ISO/TC 44/SC 14 along with ISO/TC 261 and ASTM F42 reached a formal agreement to bring the efforts together in a Joint Working Group (JWG 5) for the development of standards for metal-based AM in the aerospace industry, consisting of experts nominated by both technical committees.
