ISO/TC 261 “Additive Manufacturing” is pleased to announce that a big milestone with regard to the development stage of 15 AM-standards has been reached.
The projects listed below were jointly developed at ISO/ASTM-Joint-Groups based on a partnership agreement between ISO and ASTM International with the aim to create a common set of ISO/ASTM standards on Additive Manufacturing at ISO/TC 261 “Additive manufacturing” and ASTM Committee F42, “Additive Manufacturing Technologies”.
We kindly like to inform you about the publication of the following international standard and specification:
- ISO/ASTM 52900:2021 Additive manufacturing — General principles — Fundamentals and vocabulary
- ISO/ASTM TS 52930:2021 Additive manufacturing — Qualification principles — Installation, operation and performance (IQ/OQ/PQ) of PBF-LB equipment
The following international draft standards will be published in December 2021:
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52902:2021 Additive manufacturing — Test artifacts — Geometric capability assessment of additive manufacturing systems
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52909:2021 Additive manufacturing — Finished part properties — Orientation and location dependence of mechanical properties for metal powder bed fusion
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52911-3:2021 Additive Manufacturing — Design — Part 3: Electron beam powder bed fusion of metals
The following international draft standards will be published in January 2022:
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52908 Additive manufacturing of metals — Finished Part properties — Post-processing, inspection and testing of parts produced by powder bed fusion
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52927 Additive manufacturing — General principles — Main characteristics and corresponding test methods
The following international final draft standard is expected to be balloted at ISO/TC 261 in January 2022:
- ISO/ASTM FDIS 52925 Additive manufacturing of polymers — Qualification principles — Classification of part properties
The publication of ISO/ASTM 52925 is expected for May 2022.
The following international draft standards are expected to be published in February 2022:
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52926-1 Additive Manufacturing of metals — Qualification principles — Part 1: General qualification of operators
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52926-2 Additive Manufacturing of metals — Qualification principles — Part 2: Qualification of operators for PBF-LB
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52926-3 Additive Manufacturing of metals — Qualification principles — Part 3: Qualification of operators for PBF-EB
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52926-4 Additive Manufacturing of metals — Qualification principles — Part 4: Qualification of operators for DED-LB
- ISO/ASTM DIS 52926-5 Additive Manufacturing of metals — Qualification principles — Part 5: Qualification of operators for DED-Arc
The following international technical reports are expected to be published in the first quarter of 2022:
- ISO/ASTM TR 52906:2022 Additive manufacturing — Non-destructive testing — Intentionally seeding flaws in metallic parts
- ISO/ASTM TR 52916:2022 Additive manufacturing for medical — Data — Optimized medical image data
