Terms and Definitions of ISO/TC 176 Standards

The purpose of this document is to provide an up-to-date listing of ISO/TC 176 terms and definitions. For convenience, the terms are listed in alphabetical order in contrast to ISO 9000 where the terms are arranged in conceptual order. This information was up to date on 29 September 2022. The table lists 229 terms and definitions.

ISO 9000 contains the terms and definitions that apply to all quality management and QMS standards developed by ISO/TC 176, and other sector specific QMS standards based on those standards. At the time of its publication, ISO 9000:2015 contained 146 terms and definitions.

Since 2015, there have been several additions and revisions. These added terms and revised definitions are contained in the standards that gave rise to these changes. However, they have not yet been included in a revision or amendment to ISO 9000.
