Dr. Carlos Gadsden will be formally recognized by the Associazione QualitàCommuni for his leadership, development and promotion of ISO 18091 Quality management systems — Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001 in local government. He will be awarded the Mario Angelo Award.
Dr. Carlos Gadsden will be formally recognized by the Associazione QualitàCommuni for his leadership, development and promotion of ISO 18091 Quality management systems — Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001 in local government. He will be awarded the Mario Angelo Award, which is named for Dr. Mario Angelo Parma, who promoted the principles of quality in the public administration, and who was the mayor of the first Italian municipality to be certified to ISO 9001. Dr Gadsden will be recognized on 23rd of May 2025 for his support of the implementation of ISO 18091 around the world.
The systematic review of ISO 18091:2019 which finished in June 2024 confirmed the standard until 2029 and revealed that 57 countries (almost 1/3 of the UN registered countries) have adopted it as a national standard as well, appointed out that in 2 countries of those is referenced in their internal regulations, India and Panama. Furthermore of the 18091 confirmation until 2029, at least 14 countries are interested to work towards future improvements, which may begin in October 2025. The approach of ISO 18091 could contribute significantly to the quality improvement and holistic implementation of the UN Agenda 2030 from the local governments considering the coherence of public policies supply chain processes among national and regionals governments facing citizen's needs in a sustainable and reliable way in territories and cities.
