User surveys on implementation of ISO/IEC 17011 and ISO/IEC 17025

CASCO has requested that members and A-liaison organizations, including 176, to disseminate the
information on the launch of the survey on ISO/IEC 17025 to the conformity assessment bodies using
that standard and encourage them to complete the survey and provide their feedback by 10
November 2021.

When ISO/IEC 17011 and ISO/IEC 17025 were published in 2017, a survey was launched to collect
feedback from users on the value of the new versions.
The initial results were discussed in 2019 by the Chairman's Policy and Coordination group (CPC)
and they concluded that it was too early in the implementation process to get valuable detailed
feedback and that it would be more appropriate to survey after the end of the 3-years’ transition
period (November 2020 and then extended to June 2021 for ISO/IEC 17025 due to COVID 19
pandemic).
A task group has worked on the new surveys which are now ready and have just been launched on
2021-09-27. The ILAC and IAF secretariats have sent a communication to their members and
stakeholders' group asking those involved in the use of the standards to take part or to disseminate
the information to their customers or related bodies that are involved.
With this letter, we would like to ask the CASCO members and A-liaison organizations to disseminate
the information on the launch of the survey on ISO/IEC 17025 to the conformity assessment bodies
using that standard and encourage them to complete the survey and provide their feedback by 10
November 2021. The link to the survey for ISO/IEC 17025 is:
https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/63XFD5/ . For the survey on ISO/IEC 17011, the communication
sent by the IAF and ILAC secretariats is reaching the main users of the standard (accreditation
bodies) and would not require any further dissemination of the information at this stage.

Yours faithfully,
