Growing popularity, growing safety needs
Padel has rapidly evolved into one of the fastest‑growing racket sports worldwide, attracting players of different ages and skill levels. As more courts are built and used intensively, structural safety and user protection become key factors for maintaining safe and enjoyable play.
Towards safer, more reliable padel courts
With the precedent of the Spanish standard, the main objectives of this document are to define the essential and specific requirements that padel courts shall meet to ensure their structural and operational safety.
The standard is also conceived to define the necessary inspections, revisions and tests which padel courts shall undergo once they have been installed, and to list the applicable standards in the manufacture of the main elements of padel courts: structure, glass, flooring and lighting.
Next steps and call for experts
The Working Group has started its work on ISO/WD 25808, and further interested experts are welcome to join and support the development of the standard.
