Description: This webinar will delve into the current state of affairs with regards to standards setting for artificial intelligence. The webinar speakers will discuss the current state of the global artificial intelligence space, the importance of global harmonization and standards setting in general and the need for coordination, collaboration and research between and amongst ISO entities. The speakers will also discuss the recent creation of a Joint Working Group (JWG) of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 Artificial Intelligence and ISO/TC 68/AG 6 Artificial Intelligence and the forthcoming ISO Technical Report which the JWG will jointly produce. Interested country and corporate representatives are encouraged to reach out to the webinar speakers or other ISO representatives to engage.

Bios:
Gabriella Kusz – Ms. Kusz is a Senior Fellow at AI 2030, the organization advancing responsible innovation in the AI space. She is the former CEO of the Global Digital Asset Association (GDCA). In 2023, she was named among the 'Top 20 Most Influential Women in Fintech' by the American Banker. Ms. Kusz is a true ambassador for blockchain and Web3, and is regularly named as one of the top c-suiters in industry publications.
Aurélie Jacquet – Ms. Jacquet is an independent consultant who advises companies on the responsible implementation of AI with a specific focus on financial services organizations, and she also works as Principal Research Consultant on Responsible AI for Australia’s National Science Agency.
Ms. Jacquet is a member of the Australian AI expert group that advises the Federal Government on mandatory guardrails for high-risk AI applications, and the Chair of the Standards Australia committee representing Australia at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on AI.
As part of her international work, Ms. Jacquet is also an advisor to the Responsible AI Institute which, under the umbrella of the World Economic Forum, is developing the first accredited global certification program, an expert for the OECD.AI on AI Risks and incidents and has been recognized by Women in AI Ethics as one of the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics globally.
Ms. Jacquet also has over 15 years of experience in governance, with 10 years working in financial services.
Jim Northey – Mr. Northey serves as the CTO of CalcGuard Technologies, Inc., an industry consortium for capital markets order routing transparency, analytics, and execution quality. He was a Senior Vice President of Strategic Research focusing on Protocol Engineering and Standards at Itiviti Group AB, following acquisition of The LaSalle Technology Group, LLC in 2015, which he co-founded in 2006.
Mr. Northey is in his second term as the Chair of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee 68 (ISO/TC 68), Financial services. He is a non-executive director of FIX Protocol Ltd. Jim served as the Global Technical Committee Co-chair for the Americas Region until his election as an FPL director. Mr. Northey is a past member of the Financial Research Advisory Committee of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Financial Research; he is also a past member of the Subcommittee on High Frequency Trading of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Technology Advisory Committee. Mr. Northey previously served in the roles of FIX Americas Region Co-chair and FIX Global Derivatives Committee Co-Chair. He was awarded the FIA Annual Achievement award in 2006 as part of the team that created FIXML for listed derivatives clearing standardization.
Mr. Northey holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Indianapolis and an M.S. in Financial Markets and Trading from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is an adjunct instructor of Finance at Michigan Technological University where he teaches courses on derivatives, financial engineering, and financial technology. He serves on the board of the Keweenaw Financial Corporation and Superior National Bank in Michigan and is on the board of advisors for Esprow Pte. Ltd., Distributed Energy Storage Ltd, and V2G Limited. Outside of the financial services industry, Mr. Northey serves as a director of the Copper Country Angel Mission and CopperDog, Inc. nonprofits.
