Final vote on the draft standard before publication
If the DIS has been approved and no technical changes are introduced, the FDIS is automatically skipped. The standard goes straight to publication.
But if there are technical comments after the DIS, the working group answer them and modify the draft standard accordingly if the comments are accepted.
Then, the final draft is submitted to a final vote for 8 weeks to all ISO members. The standard is approved if a two-thirds majority of the P-members of the TC/SC is in favor and not more than one-quarter of the total number of votes cast are negative.
