A new Advocacy Toolkit for menstrual product standards has been launched to support engagement in the development and implementation of standards at national and international levels. The toolkit was developed by the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) in partnership with Menstrual Health Action for Impact (MHAi).
Menstrual health is closely linked to public health, gender equality, and economic participation. Around 1.72 billion people who menstruate live in low- and middle-income countries, and many still rely on unsafe or improvised materials.
In many countries, standards for menstrual products are limited or do not exist, and existing standards may vary widely. This highlights the need for stronger and more harmonized approaches.
The toolkit provides practical guidance to support participation in standardization work, including engagement with ISO/TC 338 Menstrual Products. It includes a guide, an executive summary, and practical tools such as checklists and templates to support stakeholders throughout the process.
By supporting broader participation and informed engagement, the toolkit contributes to the development of inclusive, effective, and globally relevant menstrual product standards.
