Introduction

ISO 37009 provides organizations with practical guidance on identifying, assessing, addressing, and monitoring conflict of interest. Based on the principles of trust, integrity, transparency, and accountability, the standard is designed to be universally applicable to all types of organizations—regardless of size, sector, or nature of activities, including public, private, and not-for-profit entities. It also distinguishes between actual, apparent, and potential conflicts of interest, helping organizations effectively manage risks and strengthen governance.
