The PC and its WG1 held meetings at the Pusat Rehabilitasi PERKESO (SOCSO Rehabilitation Centre) in Melaka, Malaysia during 18 to 23 September and agreed the need to go forward to the Final Draft International Standard stage

The ballot on the 2nd Draft International Standard (DIS) of ISO 45001 received approximately 1600 comments against the text.
In May, ISO changed its process concerning the Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) stage. Now if any "technical" changes are made to a DIS text, it becomes mandatory to move to an FDIS stage, rather than moving directly to publication.
Noting the urgent need for ISO 45001 to complete its development process, the committee sought to balance the need to accept changes recommended via the comments versus going directly to publication.
At the end of the meeting, in light of the changes that had been accepted, it was agreed that it was necessary to go through the FDIS stage for ISO 45001. The FDIS is expected to be released for ballot on30th November.
