Martin Cottam has been reappointed for a further term as Chair of ISO/TC 283 Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management
We are pleased to confirm that Martin Cottam has been reappointed for a further term as Chair of ISO/TC 283 Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management. Martin has served as chair of the committee since its formation in 2018 upon the publication of ISO 45001:2018.
His reappointment was proposed by BSI and confirmed by ISO’s Technical Management Board.
As this will be Martin’s final term as committee chair, BSI is commencing its search for a successor, whom we hope will be appointed as Chair-elect to work alongside Martin for approximately 12 months before he steps down from the role.
Commenting on Martin’s reappointment, Committee Manager, Lachean Humphreys said “Martin brings so much experience, enthusiasm and knowledge to the role of committee chair. I’d like to offer my personal thanks for everything he does for ISO/TC 283, and for his willingness to both continue in his role and to work alongside a Chair-elect to ensure a smooth handover for the committee when the time comes.”
Martin said, “I am delighted to continue working with and leading the TC 283 team in our efforts to help organizations manage OH&S effectively. With two new standards due for imminent publication, three new work items under discussion, and the possibility of the start of work on a revision of ISO 45001 the committee will be as busy as ever in the coming months.
