The results of the ballot indicated that 57 votes of approval, 7 votes of disapproval and 8 abstentions had been submitted; consequently the DIS has been approved and can now move forward to the next stage.
Approximately 1630 comments were received on the DIS, which will now be reviewed by PC 283 at a meeting in September. Following that review, the committee will know if it is able to avoid going through the FDIS stage and move directly to publication of the standard (potentially by the end of 2017), or whether an FDIS stage will be necessary (which would delay publication until 2018).
