Climate Change and Occupational Health and Safety - What is at Stake?
Human-induced global warming is causing higher temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, and more frequent and more intense extreme weather events, and these are going to affect more and more parts of the world with every year. From an occupational health and safety (OH&S) perspective this also means increased hazards to workers from air pollutants, ultraviolet radiation and more exposure to communicable vector-borne and zoonotic diseases. Climate-related hazards such as these are going to have an increasingly severe impact on workers, sectors and supply chain disruption over the coming years.
