WHAT HAS CLIMATE CHANGE GOT TO DO WITH OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY?
Organisations with workers in different locations may have increasingly different needs to enable safe work. While previously company-wide standardised controls may have met needs, this is increasingly not the case. One of the most obvious elements of climate change is the increase in extreme events in localised areas. Extreme heat, lack of water, erosion, flooding, landslips, thunderstorms are all impacting different communities with greater frequency and severity. This means health and safety considerations need to adapt and be more frequently reviewed or changed to consider current and near future conditions.
