ISO/TC 258 met to decide future of ISO Project, Programme and Portfolio Management standards and other deliverables, in the city of brotherly Love”, Philadelphia, PA, USA, September 2023.
In the International Organization for Standardization (IS0), committees meet to discuss and develop a standard or other deliverable and make decisions at their plenary meetings. The ISO, Technical committee with responsibility for Project, Programme and Portfolio Management, held its last meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA during 18th to the 22nd September 2023.
For the first time this committee held an official hybrid meeting, where heads of delegations were afforded the opportunity to participate in person and via virtual means simultaneously.

Chair of ISO/TC 258, Mr Donald Boyer commented at the end of the last plenary, that:
“ISO/TC 258 met in Philadelphia for the first face-to-face/hybrid meeting since COVID led to all meetings being held through virtual technology. Meeting participants were very enthusiastic about being together for the first time in many years and we worked very hard to make sure our virtual delegates were able to fully participate”.
The Committee Manager, Mrs Tzarmallah Joseph stated that:
“This plenary of TC 258 marked a culmination of much hard work by the volunteers globally to advance the standards under the mandate of the TC. This is an exciting time for the TC having had a successful phased transition in the leadership roles - (Chair in January 2023 and Committee Manager in September 2022). In addition, the TC welcomed new subject matter experts (SMEs) to the meeting and its active groups. The spirit of cooperation and collaboration was encouraged, in particular as the SMEs met in person for the first time since 2019”.
